- Nearly one in five children live in a food insecure household.
- In the past five years, the rate of SNAP, or food stamp, participation has increased by 103.5%.
- According to Food Resource and Action Center (FRAC) obesity data, one in three low-income children age 2-5 in Massachusetts are overweight or obese which can lead to lifelong health issues.
The No Kid Hungry campaign is ending childhood hunger in America by connecting kids in need with nutritious food and teaching families how to cook healthy, affordable meals, through Cooking Matters. Share Our Strength also partners with Project Bread, Massachusetts’s leading anti-hunger organization. As the exclusive No Kid Hungry Ally in Massachusetts, Project Bread is working to expand the Child and Adult Food Care Programs and works with Cooking Matters Massachusetts to connect the nutrition and cooking program to Project Bread’s extensive network of chefs and community partners.
